On April 3rd, 2022, the Ancestor Worship Ceremony was held online with grandeur in the Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot, Xinzheng county, Henan. After the careful construction by China Railway 15th Bureau Group for more than a year, the Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot presents to the global Chinese a brand-new look.

The site of the Ancestor Worship Ceremony

The reconstruction and expansion project of the Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot includes comprehensive projects such as landscape design, antique building construction, the installation of underground pipelines, and other related facilities. The project covers an area of 386,000 square meters and it is mainly divided into two construction modules of Hometown Park and Hometown Square.

Hometown Park has adopted the design concept of “one axis and two rings”. The landscape along the main axis is set up following the entrance sequence while worshipping, with the Ring of Culture consisting of cultural elements of Huangdi as well as the Ring of Four Seasons consisting of landscapes in four seasons intertwined with the main axis sequence. The square for large group activities includes the Entrance Square, the Concentric Square, the Ancestor Worship Square, and one large open-air recreation square on the south side of the park, which integrates leisure, touring, and recreational activities as well as the cultural perception.

To create an everlasting legacy in the Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot and deliver the project on time, China Railway 15th Bureau Group has overcome the four problems of “reverse height difference, lack of atmosphere, crowded space and over-mixed styles” in the original construction site. The park has been transformed under the construction policy of “adjusting the height difference, sorting out the sequence, creating the atmosphere and unifying the styles” in general; a high-accurate construction group plan is formulated, a coordination organization of high sensitivity is established and the work was started in parallel at many points. According to incomplete statistics, a total of 46 processes were carried out at the same time at most, and each progress was different. Through the refined scientific construction, timely delivery of the project has been finally ensured, laying a solid foundation for the successful organization of the Ancestor Worship Ceremony in the Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot.

Because of the current severe epidemic prevention and control, the Ancestor Worship Ceremony in the Yellow Emperor’s Native Place Scenic Spot in the year of Renyin (2022) was held online. Representatives of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, overseas Chinese compatriots in Zhengzhou and representatives of elites from different fields have attended the Ancestor Worship Ceremony onsite. China Railway 15th Bureau Group was invited to attend as the contractor of the construction. Chinese people around the world watch the Livestream, cross the gap due to time and space, and worship our ancestor Xuanyuan (Yellow Emperor), praying for China to start its new journey!
