The Arima General Hospital Project covers an area of 14000 square meters and a building area of 25600 square meters. It is a comprehensive modern hospital, including inpatient department, operating room and other major facilities and supporting projects. The project is a turnkey hospital project contracted by China Railway Construction Corporation in the Western Hemisphere, which integrates design, construction, equipment procurement and installation. It is also China Railway Construction Corporation's first hospital housing construction project overseas that integrates design, construction, equipment procurement, training and maintenance. At present, it is one of the largest, most complete and most advanced general hospitals in Trinidad and Tobago and even in the Caribbean.
During the construction period and after putting into operation, the project has been widely concerned and reported by CCTV and international media for many times. After the hospital was put into operation, it was at the critical juncture of the COVID-19, which provided an important guarantee for the epidemic prevention work in Trinidad and Tobago, and received unanimous praise from the local government and society.
